There is a news story currently running on CNN about a Christian High School in Augusta, GA that is claiming that facebook, myspace, twitter passwords are all property of the school if the students are in attendance. Yeah, I had the same thoughts you did...confusion. Clarification..if you attend that school, and they suspect you of doing things OUTSIDE of school that do not comply with the student handbook (parties, drinking, ect) then the school feels its their right to access your facebook, myspace or twitter to see if its true. WTF?! Im not an attorney but thats an invasion of privacy. You could make the same argument that I need your bank account passwords and statements to make sure that you didn't use money to buy anything to contribute to this deliquesce. To make things better...they aren't the only school that is doing it. They are following the model from other Christian schools in south carolina. damn, religion ruins everything.
So I skipped breakfast at the apt this morning and decided to get a bagel from Einstein's. I love bagels and I love Einstein's so it was a good decision. When I placed my order this morning an elderly black woman said to me: " How ya doing baby?" Not the use of the word "baby" that one would use with a girl friend or lover, but in the way that a grandparent or mother would use it. It was nice, it totally put a smile on my face. After paying for the food she brought it over to me and said "Have a good one baby". I was like: "I will! You too!"
whew! a 23 year old white male talking to an elderly married black woman and the word baby was used twice?! don't tell the crazies at the Christian High School.. i think they would object.
