Just...shut...up.

Have you ever been in that situation where you just said the absolute wrong thing (accidentally) and it just pushed you further in the hole? I am in that situation now. I recently purchased a spiffy new computer from Tiger Direct. Its a website to buy electronics from. Well after 18 days my 600$ computer was broken. GREAT. Well its only 18 days old..thats cool it falls under warranty. I call them up get it worked out they sent me a UPS label, shipped..good..done. Well the UPS cost 35$. Not a HUGE deal, but a something that bugged me. So I call them up looking to see if I can get a refund for my shipping costs. NOPE! Then i was informed that I had to return the computer to them in the original packageing...

"What?"

" YEP! you have to return the item in its original packaging! Thats our company policy!"

" Well no one told me that, and besides I threw away the box 2 days ago.."

" Oh no! Now we have to charge you a 25% restocking fee! Why would you throw away the box?"

"....because..I wasn't expecting it to BREAK 18 days in. And there is nothing about orginal packaging ANYWHERE in any emails you sent me, or anywhere in the phone conversations that I have had with your people.."

" Well we have a restocking fee of 25%..lets see that comes to $160.00 . You will have to pay that before we can send you a replacement.."

" .....*blink*...."

" sir?"

this is where i wanted to get creative with my words.. well i did in my head, and it went a little something like this...

" Look dickface.. You can't expect me to know to do something unless you tell me. I spent over $600 on a computer, that you sold me only to have it break 18 days later. Now you are telling me that you will charge me ANOTHER $160 to get a replacement for something that didn't work to begin with?? Original packageing wasn't mentioned by any of the 3 people I called about this, nor was it in any emails that you sent me. You can eat a bag of dicks lady.."

this is what i REALLY said:

"what? Well i was never told anything like that..."

" well thats our policy!"

" CAN I get a refund?"

" Alright..I have canceled your return order and put in for a refund. What else can I do for you?"

" No I don't want a refund, I want to know if I can get one...did you just cancle the repair order?"

" Yes, and I can't reverse it. "

"Great, thats not what I wanted to do.."

" Well you can call back and speak to a manager about it !!"
