I'm pretty sure the MARTA conductor fell asleep while operating the train.
This is ALL speculation so fasten your seatbelts and follow me into the land of " Maybe or Possibly!"
So we were riding on the train. I say WE meaning all the other people on the train. I don't know them or remember any of them. So somewhere between the Buckhead Station and the Medical Center Station the train slowed to a complete stop. Not abrupt just a nice even slow to a stop. Then we sat there.
And sat there.
AND sat there.
For probably 20 minutes we sat on this train, stopped along 400. Finally a passenger gets up and pressed the intercom button to talk to the conductor.
Nothing happened.
So he pressed again.
Nothing happened....
So he pressed AGAIN!
the driver answered : " What? "
The passenger asked: " Yeah, why are we stopped???"
The train INSTANTLY started up again.
My Theory: The driver has to keep a pedal, button or level depressed as a safety precaution so if he / she were to fall asleep the train would not barrel out of control. I think the driver drifted off to sleep and the safety precaution went into effect. I think the intercom buzzer woke up the driver and he / she started us on our way. Mose in socks! CASE CLOSED!!!!!
the end.
